The CTMRF Molecular Lab plays a pivotal role in various clinical research studies and laboratory training programs. It is a very well-designed and equipped molecular lab that ensures accuracy, contamination control, and regulatory compliance.

The CTMRF molecular lab has a unidirectional workflow with clearly separated pre-PCR (reagent preparation), sample extraction, and post-PCR areas to prevent cross-contamination.

The pre-PCR room (reagent preparation room) is dedicated to reagent preparation under sterile conditions. It is equipped with dedicated micropipettes, laminar airflow and - 20 degrees deep freezer

The extraction room contains Class-2 biosafety cabinet and dedicated pipettes for safe extraction of nucleic acid from the samples.

The amplification and detection area house the QuantStudio 5 Dx Real-Time PCR system, which enables precise real-time detection and quantification of DNA or RNA targets using advanced fluorescence technology.

Proper air pressure control, dedicated equipment for each section, temperature monitoring, and adherence to clinical quality standards (such as internal controls and validation protocols) ensure reliable results in molecular testing.

CTMRF Molecular lab has conducted research studies on Pediatric infections caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Respiratory Syncytial Virus, Dengue virus, Streptococcus pneumoniae.
